In this article Brian Kim explains how to find out what is the best job for you. And I think most people never really think about this, or if they do, they go with a gut feeling. This can be ok, but I think using some form of procedure/checklist can help you find out things you didn’t realize about yourself.
I am not saying I have the perfect job for my skills and interests, but it comes close. Being a trainer, programmer and writer I do what fascinates me most: enhancing peoples lives with technology in a diverse way, and getting immediate response about it. The writing and training part fulfills my desire to create with language as well as with technology. It’s what programming for me is about: not just the tech stuff, but also what it means to people and how they use it.
